BPW/ME 2012-2013 THEME:

"CONNECTING WOMEN AND INSPIRING THE FUTURE"

June 27, 2012

Hi to all BPW MEMBERS!

MISSED YOU:

I missed seeing many of you at conference earlier this month… shoot me an email let me know why you chose not to participate? What do we need to do to get you to our next one? If you were there, what changes would make conference better for you?

SUMMER PLANNING:

Now is the time to plan our new year for both local organizations and state. I am challenging you to recharge your organization. Change it into an organization that everyone wants to be a part of. Get involved with your planning and think outside the box!

Our organization has spent the last few years changing and streamlining. We now no longer have a prohibitive cost structure. So there is no reason not to ask everyone to join, unless it isn’t the kind of organization you want your friends to know you are in…. Remember, we as women spend too much time working, whether it is home or at our various jobs and responsibilities…. Make BPW time, the FUN TIME. Then there will be no reason not to participate and ask your friends to join…

CHALLENGE:

I would like to see all of our local organizations have at least 100 members. We can only do that if we remember to ask people to join and our organization is a fun one to belong to.  Let’s see which local can get there first, I will be monitoring and reporting on our progress.

SCHOLARSHIPS:

I took the circuitous route to get to this position having served on the leadership of the Foundation first, so I can’t help myself when I bring this up. Last year only two of our local organizations made donations to the Futurama Foundation toward scholarships; but all of the organizations submit scholarship applications. In order  to continue funding seven $1200 scholarships annually, the local organizations and all of us as individuals need to make a commitment to donate to FF annually. If each local can budget $250 and send that into FF that funds one scholarship. Believe me it really does help! We have been running an average $4000 short fall in funding for the past three years are beginning to look at cutting back. So if helping people become economically self sufficient through education is important for you, make the commitment.. and thank you.

OFFER:

Finally, I would like to offer you my services. I am trained to present any of the IDP modules and would be willing to come to one of your meetings to do that if asked. I also have a fun SPA business, bringing the SPA to your home and can do this for your group as a fund raiser; a portion of the proceeds going to FF in your organizations name.

Get active now!

Sincerely, Marie EZ Saucier

BPW/ME Co-President & CFO (Chief Fun Officer)
