Maine Business and Professional Women is a group of women organized to help working women and their families.  We are associated with Business & Professional Women’s Foundation but we decide locally how we will help working women.  We are a member of the Maine Women’s Leadership Action Coalition.  We currently have a program for young career women, one for helping all career women to move forward in their profession, and one for women veterans. We also provide networking opportunities both at our local organizations and statewide.  We give scholarships, not only to high school gradates going on to further education but to women who are in college or returning to school, through our local organizations as well as through our sister organization, Maine Business and Professional Women’s Futurama Foundation. Each year we name a Woman of the Year who is outstanding in her work and/or in her help to other women and families.  Currently we have local organizations in Bangor (Uptown), Caribou, Ellsworth (Downeast), Fort Kent, Skowhegan, and Waterville.  We also have a presence in Bath, Swans Island, and Presque Isle.  To learn more about our state leadership and the local organization nearest you, click on the Organization tab.
